Summary:
Got this for the savings in weight; I have to carry something to drink out of, might as well combine it with my filter.

This filter works well; just scoop the water up, and drink through the tube-filter assembly. About as fast as anything, *and* you don't have to take off your pack to filter water. You don't need to carry as much water, as you can simply fill it up at every water crossing.

Bring the head of a wire-brush to clean the prefilter with (just the prefilter, not the main carbon filter). This filter works well if you simply suck water through; water can be squeezed out for cooking purposes, but it is *very* slow. Get a gravity filter for that.

Paid full price at Sport Chalet, then picked up another in Mammoth for $20 (end of season sale).
