Lightweight and strong backpack-size snow shovel--a necessity for winter backcountry travel.. Blade constructed of high quality, hardened aluminum for lightweight strength; powder-coat finish on blade won't stick to snow. Telescoping handle made of anodized aircraft aluminum detaches from blade for carrying. Backbone design combines deep handle sleeve with an extended central blade rib providing extra strength at the handle/blade interface. Holes in the blade and handle allow shovel to be equipped with webbing straps for lashing to pack.
