Climber Summary: I first was turned on to the belay slave by my climbing partner in Denver, Scott Thompson. Although it was my favorite piece for this purpose it is function for the application. The belay slave is small and very lightweight and tends to be very out of the way such that you can easily use it as a backup instead of the beiner brake/device....it works well with practice as with everything and you have to like it for what it is....
