Summary:
I used these boots on a 3-day trip up Mt. Shasta in mid winter. It was not brutally cold, but it did storm for all 3 days and the snow was quite deep. They worked great in snow shoes and also kicking steps. My feet were warm and dry and the boots are very comfortable. The leather where my toes flex did get wet and froze over night, but this did not cause me any problems. My G-12 crampons fit well, but too much snow for crampon use on that trip.

Summary:
Excellent general purpose leather moutaineering boot. I have used it for basic glacier climbs with Grivel G12 Crampomatic Crampons. I used Zamberlan's Hydrobloc product with excellent results and kept my feet dry on a three day trip up Mount Shuksan. The boots were also reasonably nimble on moderate 4th class terrain on Shuksan's summit pyramid.
