, from Venice, Florida Summary: After owning a Nova 16 since 1999, I can say without reservation that this boat performs as well as many others I have paddled on flatwater. It is stable, dry and quick, and frankly, Mohawk's pricing can't be beat.
The boat trims nicely when paddled tandem, and the addition of a 5 gallon jerry can full of lake or sea water trims the boat out when paddling it solo. Recently, I added the Mohawk center seat option, and the jerry can is now unneccesary. Using Mohawk's double bladed paddle adds even more speed.
Large boat wakes can literally be ignored.
The R-84 Royalite material is more than adequate for flatwater and after 4 solid years of use (Florida), only a few inconsequential scratches are evident.
Like any plastic boat, keep her out of the sun when not in use and she will be your friend for many, many years.
