Summary:
Very flexible kayak. I've used it solo, with my wife and kid, and with other non-paddlers. The boat is pretty fast for a rec boat, very stable (even with my daughter bouncing around in the middle), and plenty maneuverable.

I would highly recommend this as a family boat. It does quite well on lakes, rivers, and even calm seas. There's even the capacity to carry some gear for camping.

I've been very impressed with the boat.
