I have a Perception Corona and I do love it. The problem is that I have gained a lot of weight due to a medical condition and now have problems with tipping over a lot. Be sure you are under 200 lbs. before you buy this boat. However, if you are and are at least an intermediate paddler, you will love it. One stroke takes you about 6 boat lengths. I've never seen a kayak that tracks as well as this one.

I just purchased the Corona a few weeks ago in the Smoke / Ocean Blue split color. I love this boat! Since I am a beginner, several retailers were steering me towards the Carolina or Savannah. After paddling both, I realized that I wanted my first boat to be something I could grow into and that I wouldn''''t tire of quickly. The Corona offered great maneuverability, tracking and plenty of room to develop my skill set. As my skills become more seasoned, the Corona will offer a nice challenge without me getting too bored of the boat.

I just bught the corona a couple of days ago. I never paddled it before, but I paddled the 'Shadow' and loved that, so I figuerd the corona's smaller size would suit me. it did and it tracks good to. What I like most about it is that it turns on a dime, and is vry sea worthy. All in all the corona is one of the funest best performing kayak I ever riden.

Fellow paddlers,
owned a looksha sport prior to corona- nice boat just didn't have the performance found in this boat. different strokes for each paddler however. have done class III, oceans- chief gripe and am waiting for email from company- the hatches are anything but dry storage compartments. got a good deal which led to adoption and am pleased, proud. feel free to email with any questions.

The initial stability is not there. I'm dying for warm weather to try out the secondary stability. It's not a boat a lot of people would climb into and be love at first paddle; but it was for me. The fit was there... I'm about 5'4" and I'm not little, but the Corona fit me. I have a split color Corona and it's a sharp looking boat!!! You feel like you sit on top of the water as opposed to in the water, it just takes a little to get use to.

Peception Vizcaya - nice boat, but a bit too big for me, don't like the seat as much as the Corona.
Dagger Callisto - too small good control
Dagger Savannah - 2nd choice after the Corona
Necky Santa Cruz - totally different boat but I liked this one too
Perception Carolina - like the boat, but I wanted a little more "punch"

Just got my Corona and here are my first impressions. It's a great looking boat! Sleek, nice length, great lines. I paddled it within an hour of leaving the dealer and I was very happy.
Initial stability is a bit tippy, as is secondary. I thought the same thing about the Shadow, but I think I'm not used to paddling a long, narrow boat. I got used to it after a couple of minutes. My experience is more with the Keowee and Swifty size, as well as canoes.
Tracking was straight and very smooth. Little effort was needed to move quite quickly. I even surprised two whitetail fawns and a blue heron drinking from a river I checked out.
The rudder works great. The cockpit was very roomy, and I will pad the seat soon, as I am too narrow to be able to brace my hips effectively. A bit of water, perhaps an ounce, leaked into the forward hatch but it was probably from the thunderstorm I had to drive through to get to the lake. Glad I had a cockpit cover!
After my paddle, I was indeed able to load my boat by myself on top of my Chevy Astro Van, and with no damage to boat or vehicle.
All in all, this is a great boat and I'm looking forward to spending countless hours in the cockpit.
