There's nothing like getting a $500 boot for only $119! I purchased the Scandium model. Of course the real test would be on the slopes, and I can tell you that this pair of boots was BY FAR the most comfortable boots I have ever worn in my life! I love this boat. The only drawback is that it is a wet boat. I use rubber plugs (bought at a hardware store for a couple of bucks) to reduce water in the cockpit.It works when the water is calm.Print services found that she tracks very well.

Aquaterre/Perception Kayak is a great kayak if you are a harbor or lake yaker or gentle ocean. It is a wet ride but if you are harbor bound you can easily place scupper plugs in the holes because you won't need to water draining feature the holes normally provide when in the ocean. Don't know what people are saying about the hatches leaking. Mine may let a cup of water total over 14 feet of inside length but big deal! Just make sure the hatches are tight I guess and the straps are tight. At 14 feet this fits inside a Ford E350 van. You could even stack 2 or maybe 3 if you had to which is great. They stay safe and not need for racks way up on top. I used to have the 15 foot Cobra Tourer which felt the same but has a well behind the seat, nice for scuba gear of cooler but I don't need it. Also Cobra has the 10 inch cubby hatch between your legs which the Prism does not but Prism has a cup holder in the same spot. The other neat feature of Prism is the foot rest adjustabel pegs. These are not made now as another poster in another site said the mold was accidentally crushed and will not be made again. You can get the Cobra but again you have 1 more foot to deal with. Overall a nice boat though and 1/2 the price at $500 or so that Cobra's or Ocean's or even Hobies. Used you can find them for $200 often, as one poster from Jupiter, Florida sold his for that.

I just love my prism,it is fast, stable,and fun. I use it mostly for fishing and goes in very shalow water. I can't wait for my next fishing trip!

Being my first kayak (have been a canoe guy for years),I needed a boat that would accomodate my frame(basically,fat with long legs),carry a good amount of gear,and be stable and manuverable enough for a variety of water conditions. After trying a variety of boats, I found the Prism sit-on-top was for me. Easy in and out, no cramped legs, and fast enough to show up those "real kayaks" occasionally.It carries a bunch of gear, and,as we paddle everything from the ocean to the Everglades,Adirondak lakes to the back bays of the Jersey shore, it will work for any type of water. And, speaking of water, that's the one major fault the Prism has.It is described as "self-bailing", which means it has four 1" drain holes in the bottom of the footwells. These holes work well if you're on a choppy bay or something,and water is splashing over the front of the boat, but they also allow water to come into the footwells. In the summer, having your feet in 6" of water is fine,but if you paddle further into the season like I do,you may want to get yourself some neoprene booties and Gore-Tex socks! Brrrrrrr! My recommendation...Buy It! You can't beat the price($500-$600,depending on your "hagglin'" skills)it's fairly light (62lbs),and,being a very stable general- purpose boat,it does'nt take a rocket scientist to paddle it.

The prism is a great kayak. I love to kayak and camp,so the prisms storage capacity and stablity make it a great platform.It performed flawlessly throughout the Everglades.In Florida's waters you want to be able to jump of and swim.The prism is stable enough to jump off and climb back on. I love this boat. The only drawback is that it is a wet boat. I use rubber plugs (bought at a hardware store for a couple of bucks) to reduce water in the cockpit.It works when the water is calm. I found that she tracks very well. I was able to keep up with my friend(in a 17ft sit in)with no problems on long stretches. She is very maneuveralbe so there is no need for a rudder. The prism is a great boat, especially for florida waters.
