I was looking for a treadmill that would not over speed when I raised the elevation. Of all the models I tried and there were a lot only the Bodyguard unit could keep the desirered speed at higher elevations. Every other brand kept speeding up. I was told only Bodyguard uses an ESC control to stop the treadmill from overspeeding. This was important to me because I want to use the treadmill to train for real hiking, and that means up hill. The ride on the unit has been great and I think the treadmill has great shock absorption. I tried the Life Fitness and felt like I was bouncing all over, the same with the True and Pacemaster. For me the Bodyguard did the trick.

Customer Service

So far not one problem and I have been thrilled.

We have been looking for a treadmill for about a year. I looked at high end units & low end units. After tring them in the stores The Body Guard Champlain Was my choice because of the overall construction and features. We are a family of four. I Run 40 minutes on the treadmill everyday,My wife works out four times a week, My daughter who is a dancer uses it to keep toned and my son is a soccer player and uss it on the off season to keep in shape. You can't beat the 5yr. warranty. If your looking for quality and a treadmill not a clothes hanger buy this unit.

Customer Service

We had a dealer ship us a floor model instead of a new unit and all I did was send an E-Mail to the Company & had a new one in two days. I also had a safety key clip break and again they Fed Ex me two new ones A.S.A.P.

This products was the best piece in it's price category for warranty, reliability and performance. I have been extremely happy with my purchase.

This is a perfect treadmill for runners. It offers the cushioning I needed with out being bouncy. It is similar too running on one of those rubber band tracks in highschool.

The Champlain is the champion of all the machines in the price range, and we tested a lot of machines! It is the smoothest and sturdiest of all the machines we tried, even the most expensive ones didn't match it's feel.
I don't know what else to say except,if you are looking to buy a good treadmill, I've done the shopping for you and the Champlain is your winner!

Customer Service

We've had no reason for our Bodyguard Champlain to have service.

Without a doubt, Bodyguard treadmills have the poorest shock absorption capabilities. The only real give in the deck is from the deck flexing in the middle from the weight of the runner, as the deck is fastened directly to the frame. However, if you are used to running on concrete sidewalks, and you like that feel, you may like these treadmills. Personally, I prefer a treadmill that is easier on the knees, and ankles. If you go into most gyms these days, the chances are you will see Life Fitness treadmills. That's because they have designed a deck that flexes as the runner's weight hits the deck, and then return's to the original position as the runner's foot leaves the platform. The shock absorption material is the same material used in huge mining vehicles, and corvettes. Have you seen many of these vehicles bouncing down the road??? I don't think so. These decks flex, they don't bounce, but inferior treadmill competitors will try to convince you that it's a bad thing, and there is too much give. Life Fitness has the largest research and development department, and that research has paid off. They are a fitness company, not just a treadmill company, so they care about your overall health and fitness. If you are looking for a home treadmill, check out the new Life Fitness home treadmills, they haven't taken over the gym market for nothing. Gym owners know what is best for their clients, and that is why they go with Life Fitness.

This may sound like I'm reviewing a car, but the Bodyguard Treadmill has such a smooth ride! My old treadmill was bumpy and uneven by comparison. The Bodyguard really glides. Plus, there are all sorts of cool features on the Bodyguard that help me plan my workout and keep track of my stats. This is a great treadmill and I strongly recommend it.

Customer Service

When the little magnet came off the red emergency "key," I contacted the Fitness store where I bought the treadmill. They wanted to charge me $15 for a replacement! But when I contacted the manufacturer of Bodyguard, they not only sent me a FREE replacement -- they Federal Expressed it overnight to me for FREE! That is EXCELLENT customer service. I will definitely do more business with them.

The best shock dissipation system for gentle impact. In this day and age, I cannot believe that manufacturers are using rubber materials for the shock control. Rubber is not a shock dissipation material, it merely bounces back to deliver about 60% of the stored energy back to your joints. The Champlain has powerful electronics and the best warranty. My number 1 pick under $4000 usd.

Customer Service

I needed an extra safety key and obtained one within 48 hours.

I have had experience with the True 500. Very quiet and reliable. The quietness of the belt decreases the lifespan of the belt, moreover lubricating of the belt is needed. I did not need to pay more to get less.
