Marker M1SCR The Marker M1SCR had serious problems ie; heel separated from the toe on the mounting plate while skiing and there was never a recall. They knew about it and never had a recall. I had 4 surguries and streched the nerves in my neck and have had 16 years of misery . See MARKERBINDINGSWARNING.com or MARKERBINDINGWARNING.com

I have been skiing Marker MR and MRR bindings since 1987 and will never ski on anything else. At age 35 I am starting my 32nd year on skis and still have trouble finding anyone who can come close to keeping up with me. As a GS and downhiller I ski hard and when I go down its usually at over 60mph! I haven't been hurt since I started using Marker bindings. I did however blow apart the top of a toes piece of an older MR set from the late 80's when a hole in the packed snow of a groom run grabbed the tip of my ski and tried to steal it, they were quickly replaced by marker. I currently use a set of SC1 Turbos on my Rossignol X9 10.2 Pros and a set of regular MRR's on my Rossignol B3's. The great thing about these bindings is there is no jerk or snap when the release cam flips over, they just let go. Often I am suprised to find that my skis are missing after a hard crash because of the smooth releases of the toe and pivoting heel unit. Also, putting them on in powder is a dream come true! My advise is if you find a set, BUY THEM!

Customer Service

Marker is alway great about fixing or replacing broken bindings.

Not a lot of good things said about these bindings in the other reviews, too bad. I raced for a long time and the ONLY binding I would ever want on my skis was an MRR. I never had a bit of problem with them, the were predictable and solid. Would mount a pair and ride them for years.

The biggest thing that people missed about these bindings was their advantage in Powder. This is completely my opinion (and those friends who rode the same stuff), but how many times have you been in deep pow and have your ski come off and you spend a frustratingling huge amount of time trying to stomp into a sfiff binding. You push the ski down in the powder, have to dig it out and start all over again, eventually digging a pit just to get your board back on.

With these babies I could just step lightly down on the ski and flip the rear binding up by hand and voila, I'm in my ski in seconds.

Too bad it appears that they aren't making them anymore. I found a pair at a local shop for sale and I think I'm going to go buy them if I can figure out if I can put a wide brake on them.

Never had a single problem with numerous pairs mounted on numerous skis.

Strength:

They love trees, bumps, and powder.

Weakness:

Don't think MRRs are made anymore.

I love MRRs. I don't think I can get them anymore. I guess I better go to Ebay and buy some unused ones while I can (if possible). Don't want to use anything else.

Strength:

Likely a good binding once the plug replaced the screw. Marker even noted that "the binding could separate while skiing" in the new patent that replaced the faulty design but never recalled it.

Weakness:

Serious injury resulted 15 minutes into skiing on a new set. Other cases have been reported. Marker knowingly never recalled the bindings. Beware of thier products. I have permanant and serious nerve injury.

The marker Turbo SC1 and SC1R racing had serious problems from the start. This binding's toe and heal were integrated as two parts held by meshed teeth. The teeth relyed on a screw, later replaced by a plug, to hold the parts from spreading while skiing.

Strength:

Turn table design is nice, it's a real trick binding

Weakness:

???

I purchased this binding at a great summer sale. As far as some saying marker is an unreliable binding, I feel that is not true. I have never used anything but marker, and never had any problems. I hope to be extremely impressed with the binding.
