Tip design is lighter and lower for quicker turns, improved vibration control and added durability. Enhanced flex offers better edge grip; full-length reinforced wood core features a new Core Control Design for the ultimate in energy return. Steel cap technology offers torsional rigidity for edge hold, deep flex for turning, sleek profile for stability and a spring effect for energy return. Summary: These skis will take you to the edge of killing yourself and be solid enough to keep you alive. The first time I took these bad jonnys out I couldn't believe how much confidence they gave me. I skid faster and harder that day than I ever had before. They bite really hard on fast big turns. It's almost like you're on ice skates. They've taken me fearlessly through groomers/bumps/crud/corn/and knee deep powder. They are very responsive on the bumps. The light tips allow you to move them around very quickly and even pull double turns on a single bump. I only have two complaints about them. The plastic tips have popped off on both of them. (This has happened to me on more skiis than not, so it might just be the way I land jumps.) The other complaint is the edges rust really easily for some reason. I would highly suggest these skis to anyone.

Summary: since i had not skiied in 4 years because i wanted to try snowboarding. i did not want to get overly expencive ski and these wer on sale 350 reg 900 canadian so i researched them and found that they wer MADD GOOD well i have the machete 69z it took me a while to get used to the skis but now i feel they hold the snow nicely and i also go them kuz they are almost a pure new school free ski. they are farely stable on landings but should be slightly wider and i was in hesitation because of they r steel and i thot they wer gonna be SUPER heavy but they wer not they are not a hell of a lot heavier then salomon 1080z but still noticable. and they ride switch reallllyy good

Summary: My personal skiing ability is low expert so I was skeptical when I purchased a more advanced type ski. However, the skis hold the line extremely well on steep groomed, crud, powder. Excellent for varying conditions all over the mountain. Easy turns on cruising trails and a great all around ski. Upper intermediates should not be afraid of buying these.

Summary: I bought this ski on a friend's recommendation, and we're still friends. It handles powder well, crud exceptionally well, is a blast in the bumps and the trees, turns on a dime, and I love 'em. I bought my wife a pair a month later. She said I don't need new skis, but after she tried them she said, "Wow, now I know what you mean." The Machete is an all mountain ski for an advanced skier, and is as good as it looks!
