Advanced Summary: I was suprised or fortunate after reading the only two reviews on this product that I didn't loose a basket and tip also. My first backcountry trip with the Komperdell poles I broke one of the Power locks while double poleing on some flats. The pole finished the trip with a stick and duct tape. Not very impressed. Intermediate Summary: The tip and basked fell off my pole while I was in the back country in deep snow. Due to the deep snow, I was not able to find it. Malfunctions in equipment like this can be costly. While it is a simple equipment malfucntion, and appears to be minor, it added significant time to our trip. I had a heavy pack and one functioning pole in deep snow. For minor climbs for which I did not put my skins on, it was a problem. Similar Products Used: Leki

Advanced Summary: I used the poles two times in very deep snow and lost in both cases one basket and tip.
I reported my experience to the management of Komperdell. All the response was a new tip, no further comment.
Consequently I will not use the poles anymore, I like to have fun when going outdoor and not to have trouble wiht my equipment.
