K2 Bike Wisdom Freeride

DESCRIPTION

"The last excuse you ever want to give is, 'it's my board.' I wanted to make sure that everything on the Temptation would be perfect, that way I'd be listening to other people's excuses rather than making my own." --Wille Yli-Luoma Most of the time, Wille only gets one shot. Whether it's his final run in a major contest, first crack at a fresh kicker landing, or a technical line that demands perfection. It was critical that an athlete of this caliber has a board that can stand up to the same kind of pressure. So we equipped the Temptation to be a bit softer flexing than the Scorpaznatica with a Mach 4000 Sintered base, Hybritech sidewall construction, progressive sidecut, superlight core, carbon/kevlar reinforcements and narrow-profile steel edges. Then, to put it completely over the top, we threw in the additional power/control combo of our patented internal torsion forks and triaxial fiberglass.

Excellent board. Pick this board up at a snowboard outlet, it was on sale at the time. Original price was like $350. Had it for like 2 seasons now, but used it a lot more lately. Very light, good stiffness for speed and good pop for flex. Pretty good control on this board when doing quick turns, carves or jumps. Now, obviously there will be some nicks and chips when you get into your little accidents. I mean, even the best boards out there will be damaged depending on how you ride or what you ride it in. Bottom line is I think this is a fairly good board to ride in all conditions.

Strength:

-lightweight -very quick from edge to edge -nice amount of pop -fast base

Weakness:

-poor construction -poor customer service -price to quality ratio

I really loved this board up until the day it broke on me... I had this board for approx. 1 season before the wear and tear caught up to it. I started last season, with a season pass at Kirkwood, and I credit alot of my fast learning to this very light and manueverable board... This board saw over 50 days of riding just last season, and I definitely put it through some abuse. My only complaint about this board is its durability... My top sheet has completely seperated from the board at the nose end, not to mention the countless chips from normal everyday use...
