K2 Bike Fuse Freeride

K2 Bike Fuse Freeride

DESCRIPTION

The Fuse packs all-mountain strength into a lightweight weapon. Elite cap construction, directional shape, progressive sidecut, full-length standard wood core and a Mach 1500 base make this the most efficient tool for people who ride any natural terrain the mountain throws at them.

I have the wide version of the 05-06 board and can report this to be a very well behaved board that easily does the entire mountain. I'm 6'2", weigh better than 200 lbs and ride the entire mountain for smoothness and speed. At 39 years old you'll not find me at the park or in the pipe. But, you will find me on harrowing steeps, mogul runs and basically anywhere there is groom. This board is stiff enough to carry you as fast as you want to go and holds up when you need to slow down, dig in, etc. but also has a gentle flex that helps in moguls, plow and in keeping you from feeling too beat up in general. It's very well done and unless you are very (and I mean very) aggressive, sumo wrestler large or ride for specific reasons you really don't need to spend more. Oh, the colors and graphics are wonderfully understated.

Strength:

Bottom, edges - durable. Great board by good company at an excellent price.

Weakness:

Top gets chipped easily.

I have the board pictured above. The board itself is very solid with a bit of flex, yet not too loose. I bought this board off Ebay after much research. As I am a full-grown adult woman, not a half-grown kid, I am short but weigh more than 90 lbs so I needed a board that could handle my weight which this one can. The graphics are gloriously understated and look fantastic against the white powder of snow. The bottom and edges can take quite a bit of abuse and still hold up. My board was in pretty bad shape last week when I took it in for a tune-up and came out looking FANTASTIC! Durable - that it is! K2 has been known to make excellent boards and this one lives up to their tradition!
