Strength:

I was marginally impressed by this shoe. I didn't find it as durable as others I have used. The webbing is very suseptable to abraision. The bindings often became loose. Great flotation and traction until the webbing wears through. - cabinet supply

Weakness:

I learnt to snowboard on the 158 control at 98kg I'm not the lightest person on the mountain but I think it is a fantastic board to learn on. Can be a tad sketchy at high speed on piste but in powder it's fantastic.

I have the 07 Ride Control 158,It's a Sweet Board,Iv'e taken it up to the Mountain Once so far and It Rides Great,Great control and good pop. Was riding a division 23 snowboard(retailed for $600) before this one, And was surprised at how well my new Ride Control series performed, being one of the lower line of boards from Ride. Also iv'e been riding snowboards for around 12 years and this is about the best performing board iv'e had,Until next year when i get the top of the line Ride Snowboard ;-)

It was okay when I was just started. I learned how to snowboard with it. It's fine when your going slow and just starting out, but don't expect to improve a lot if you're still stuck with this board. If you bomb a hill, the board will get REALLY sketchy, and you'll wipe out. CONTROL is not a very good name for this board if you're going to be going at fast speeds. The bottom is also VERY soft. Any little ice chunk will make a devasting gash. There's better boards out there.

Strength:

easy to learn on, good flex. Awesome graphics.

Weakness:

none I can tell

I learned on this board and I love it. It helped me pick up this kick ass sport in only about 3 days. Who knows, if I hadn't liked this board I might still be *shudder* skiing. :) I'm 5'7, 145 and ride the 153.

The 23rd Buchan
Advanced

Strength:

As the name says, this board has awesome control. When you catch an edge while you cruise around, its very easy to regain control. Hence its a great freeride board. The price per quality ratio is unmatched. I like the base graphics which are cool and simple. The metal caps at the tip and tail really protect the board when you hit some rocks or trees.

Weakness:

This board is slow, maybe it was the wax but it was too slow for my liking. The graphics on the top are weak and the laminate seems to chip too easily. Those who do more freestyle should look for something else. It also lacks some pop that i would like, but these are all minor things.

Great all mountain board for intermediates through to low advanced. For those who are on a budget but want quality in their purchase. This board helps move intermediates into the advanced levels.
