Stylish and functional. Traditional Gore-tex fabric (not Gore-tex XCR); keeps you very dry and is fairly light for its size (cut long to cover your tail-end). Waist and hem drawcords, although waist cord can only be accessed when the jacket is open. Velcro and elastic on the cuffs allow for a very tight closure. Radiant R3 Fleece Jackets zips-in very easily and together they make an excelent combo for cold/wet weather. Customer Service Typical excellent Patagonia customer service. I swear by this fabulous coat. It''''s completely waterproof, comfordable, and has great design features such as two pairs of exterior hand-warming pockets (all North Face coats have the same nylon material inside the pockets as on the outside, which is pointless in the cold, but on this coat the pockets are furry and warm on the inside). The hood rolls into the collar, which is also nice. I like the little interior chest pocket for holding a wallet or keys. Overall, a great coat. It is pretty thin though, so I definitely reccomend a zip-in compatible fleece, especially the Synchilla (the one I have, and the one especially designed for this particular coat). Without a zip-in underlayer, this will only keep you warm in the Fall or colder Spring. Is $300 too much for a thin coat? I don''''t think so...water can''''t get inside, and I love the design...it''''s all dependant on the weather conditions where you live. Living in New York, a zip-in layer is a must, and a waterproof coat is a big luxury. This baby will be great for all seasons except for summer, where I''''ll sadly put it away for a few months.
