Summary:
I also have the Crossmax 9 w/o the Pilot System. I do have the sport plate, which I highly recommend adding, as it increases handling and responsiveness when carving. These skis are by far the best I've owned, and will serve an intermediate to advanced skier well. They perform well in all conditions, especially bumps and trees - though they're a little less stable on ice. They're a great all mountain / carving ski at a decent price. Buy these.

Summary:
I'm a 48 year old "born again" skier thanks in large part to greatly improved ski technology of the past several years. After skiing a few other demos, I stepped into a pair of Crossmax 10s, was pleasantly blown away and bought a pair. Absolutely the most responsive skis I've tried, and the way they carve on ice is almost scary. Those little patches of clear stuff that used to send my skis out from under me are no longer an issue. I found that a more balanced stance than I was used to in turns was needed to maintain stability and staying slightly on the edges on the flat will keep from wandering. They took a few runs to get used to but go where I tell them to without hesitation. And my 48 year old knees don't bother me the day after any more.Price was definitly an issue, but I'm having more fun on the slopes than I have in 20 years.

Summary:
I actually have the Crossmax 8 (non-pilot) but they are the best skis I have ever owned. They require some muscle to turn at slower speeds but in the bumps and at high speeds there is nothing better.
