at Ebay Summary: A quick stable ski. While it will not forgive mistakes, it does thoroughly reward good technique. The faster you go and the harder you push it the happier the ski and the skier. Excellent off-piste and on the groomers. I even had a good time doing some GS gates with these. If you ski agressively and in control these are ideal skis to be on. at www.sportliquidators Summary: first off volkl doesnt authorize online retail so u gotta call. these are the 2003 model
anyways, im 5'9" 145lbs and i have the 179cm ski. this is an awesome ski. i live in ny and frequently ski jay peak vt, its only and hour from college. I have found these skis to be amazing in powder (of course) but suprisingling great on ice and stuff. they hold an edge like my buddys v3 carvers. they bust through crud and ice chucks like a hot knife through butter. ive heard people say you need solid technique to get the most out of these skis and i agree with them, but dont let that alone drive you away from these skis, they will teach you how to ski better because when ur in the sweet spot, low and forward, these skis ride like there's no tommorow. i have the rossi axial 120 on them and it is an awesome setup.
also they sound awesome like they are hollow when ur riding on hardpack
these skis are very nimble and agile, its a great ski, everything i was looking for in an all around ski Customer Service: sportsliquidaots said they would be here by xmas, (all the way from bc) and they arrive a day late, not bad since i gave them 4 days to ship it and it was free Similar Products Used: rossi bandit x,xx, volkl v3 carver, dynatar intuitiv 74, castle red hots (my rock skis)

at Boise McQ's Summary: The first day I skied the 2003 Volkl G4 was at Sun Valley after 19 inches of new on Dec 28th. Heavy wet slop. I mean heavy. Sun Valley prides its self on grooming, but they really could not handle the 19 inch dump very well. Few people survived the mountain that day. However, the G4's smoked through everything. Nothing deep, heavy, or cut up will stop them. My buddies had to even avoid skiing the heaviest stuff on the sides of the runs that day. But I had no problem. I bought the 178CM and they are very fast sliders. I basically pass everyone on the cat tracks. However, when you find some firm groom runs the G4's require work and you work hard to keep the speed down. They are not effortless on firm snow. Even though they are fast I would think the next length longer (or another ski all together) could be a better all around ski or if you ski a Sun Valley type resort mostly. I'm 5'11' and 165lbs. The three days of ripping around on them at Sun Valley was great...but in the end I was missing my easy cruising XScreams. Then on the forth day of skiing my G4's I hit our local area called Bogus Basin. Bogus was deep with snow from the last week of record dumps...plus I had the bonus of 14 inches of fresh. I skied 12 runs of virtually untracked heavy wet powder. The G4's were toasting everyone. Speedy and staying on top. Incredible! What a powder ski. So much fun! The stiff frame just lets you rip. However, I feel a guy still needs his P50's or XScreams to really enjoy fast cruising the firm grooms. Glad I bought the ski for big snow days. I even had a couple of ski darlins asking me about them "cool skis". G4's are certainly a good looking ski...or maybe it just me on them???? I mounted my G4's with red and black S810 titanium Salomon bindings. The G4's with these bindings are very light weight...maybe that is why on firm groomers I miss my heavy Xscreams. Customer Service: Great Ski shop. Plus they threw in a tune card and the needed extra wide ski brakes. Similar Products Used: Salomon XScreams; Volkl P40
