If ski areas are a place for adventure, the Dynastar has your passport: the Outland. Especially well-suited to those who may be tentative at first ...
Summary: I am not sure really what year I tried of the ski. It was a white pair of Outland with pintail technology. The side cut was 101/63/88 well at least thats what I think it was. I tried a pair of 170's just for giggles. I am 6'1 and weigh 190 pounds. For starters I would say that the ski was to short for me. I am used to 204cm or 193cm strait skiis. The tail kept comming up at the end of the turn for me.
I would really like to try a pair of 180s or larger. They were awesome on the slope. I ran them on groomed sloopes, bumps, crud and they did it all. I would say that these skiis like to turn and even help you carve better than ever. They were amazing even at very high speeds. I know these are probably rated a beginner ski and were very soft but I loved them. It was almost sad to me to give them up to my mother who really needs a ski this size and weight. They were even better than the Solomon pilot 10 that I tried.
Strengths: This ski can carve on ice like its nothing. This ski will help people of all skills learn how to carve correctly. Efortless turns all day.
Weaknesses: This was to short for me.
Similar Products Used: None they blew everything else I have tried out of the water. Solomon Pilot 10, Solomon Axendo, k2 712.

Summary: the outland 9 is a great ski! we do alot of skiing in the east and I found these really could hold an edge on ice. smooth and easy on turns too! these skis can help build confidence!
Strengths: great edge hold on ice. A forgiving ski if you are a bit tentative.
Weaknesses: I found them to be a bit heavy in extremely deep snow (Utah powder so deep hardly anyone could ski!)this could also be due to the fact I have very heavy bindings too!
Similar Products Used: dynastar outland 7 and elan scx rental skis
Summary: This ski is an awesome ski! I couldn't believe how great they were. If anyone wants to improve their skill in any way, this is the ski. In the time I owned these skis, my skill improved tremendously. Everyone should get a chance to ski on these.
Strengths: Turning at hight speeds and on harder snow.
Weaknesses: none that i can see

Summary: Outland 9 was one of the first demo's that I tried, Quickly changed me into an advanced skier. This ski is comfortable on all terrain types. High speed groomed runs may be a little loose. I still move slowly through the moguls so have little information on how well they will work there.
This would be a great ski to learn on. In my third year of High volume skiing this ski still seem to be a best all around choice. I have no reason to think that any other ski on the market has much better all round capabilities.
Appears that this ski is being replaced with the Autodrive Series. 2001 may be the last year of production.
Strengths: Great Turns, Forgiving.
Weaknesses: Haven't found any so far.

Summary: Finally made the leap from a pair 10 year old Olin 195cm detuned slalom skis (which was great fun). Mounted Tyrolia SL110 bindings with the carving plate. Unfortunately I am still using an old rear entry Nordica boot, but I will remedy that shortly. The first two days on the Dynastars have been a blast. Wonderful carvers, fairly forgiving, although they hate to be skidded. Just get over on those edges. Long radius, short radius, bumps, crud, groomed...these skis are happy anywhere. Had a grin on my face all day. Even took them into the trees. What a treat. Looking forward to the new boots to realize even more of their potential. I would highly recommend these skis for any intermediate to advanced skier who doesn't get enough days to justify a larger investment or adequate time to refine technique. These are skis for anyone who just wants to get out and play.
Strengths: true all mountain ski, carves, floats groomed or off-piste...these do it all
Weaknesses: not the best on icy slopes or boilerplate
