at sony Home or Favorite Resort: Mammoth Mountain Product Year: 2000 Summary: Overall good product. Used mostly snowboarding. problems with signal, when other partner is on a different run, or separated by great distance and trees, but if you are on the same run, it works great. i recommend the attachment microphones. They make it so you can stow the little guy away in your pocket, and just use the waterproof mic that can hang from your jacket collar. :) Strengths: easy to use, cool colors, well made, signal clear when in range Weaknesses: lost signal when not in visual or clear area between other user Similar Products Used: none

, from Grand Junction, CO, USA Home or Favorite Resort: Telluride/ Home $ Favorite (it's why I live here) Product Year: 2000 Summary: I have used them all and this is by far the best unit I have ever owned, period. Strengths: GREAT RANGE, I have used these @ over 2-1/2 miles w/ good cloud cover. The sound quality literally blows every other FRS away. The folding antenna and best channel features are nice and they have every possible feature you could need but let's face it, what really matters is SOUND QUALITY and no other manufacturer even comes close. You can CLEARLY understand what the person on the sending end is saying provided they hold the unit properly. Weaknesses: NONE Similar Products Used: Motorola 250, Talkabout basic, Talkabout 101, Midland micro-II, pretty much everything out there.

, from Burlington, Vermont Home or Favorite Resort: Stowe Product Year: 2000 Summary: Picked a pair up at Circuit City for $99 each (mfg list $169). Works great with good sound quality. Never tested the range fully. Used in hiking and skiing. Got one wet in the snow without any problems. Rubberized "Sony Sports" style buttons and housing. The antenna folds down, easier to fit the unit in a pocket compared to the Motorolas. Privacy scan continuously scans 14 channels for a clear one and notifies the other unit which to use the moment "transmit" is pushed. Great Sony quality. Strengths: Water-resistant casing, collapsable antenna, privacy channel scan Weaknesses: No "call button" Similar Products Used: Motorola 280
