Reviewed by: mberka ,  Double Diamond

Price Paid:  $0.00

Riding Style:
Vancouver, BC

Product Year:
2002

Summary:
This is a very reliable and well-designed transceiver. Unlike the digital trasceivers it will not pick up turned-on cellphones and give completely confusing readings as a result. As with all analog transceivers, practice is essential.

Strengths:
No need for an earpiece.

Weaknesses:
Takes longer to find subject(s) than with digital - unless someone has their cellphone on in which case you will pray to own an analog.

Price Paid:  $300.00

Riding Style:
Berthod Pass

Product Year:
99-00

Summary:
Dude, this thing is so confusing. Me and my brahs were in the backcountry, and I couldn't figure this thing out! Corbin got stuffed, and it took, like, 10 minutes to find his ass. I'm going back to the Tracker, even if it's not as cool.

Strengths:
Looks cool in the lift line

Weaknesses:
Confusing interface

Reviewed by: Emmanuele Lewis ,  Advanced , from Jackson, WY

Price Paid:  $185.00 at Through a Friend

Riding Style:
Jackson Hole, WY

Product Year:
1998

Summary:
Really Nice analog transciever, probably my favorite because of the lights, and ergonomics. But...if the digitals were available when I bought mine, I would've gotten a Tracker. I strongly reccommend buying digital transceivers unless you are already very experienced in analog searches, or you plan to spend a lot of time practicing analog searches!

Strengths:
Lights and sound are nice, no earpiece needed

Weaknesses:
Not nearly as fast as a digital transceiver. For a couple of bucks more, you could buy a nicer digital transceiver

Similar Products Used:
Practiced with Peips, Tracker, and Ortovox M1

Not so easy when searching for multiple burials.
