Description Part Mack Dawg hero, part Alaskan ruler, Jason Borgstede mixes up relentless kicker innovation and his skate-influenced style with powerful, technical lines on big-mountain terrain.
Summary: I used Burton Freestyle for about a year, and I ended up drilling extra holes higher on the binding for the ankle strap because I didn't feel enough support on my toe edge. It did a pretty good job but I still had a problem with the high back digging into my calf. I switched to Missions and whoa! What a relief! It already has holes nice and high up on the bindings and high back was extra tall, giving just enough support where it used to dig in. I can crank it down hard for super tight support for backcountry carving, or keep it flexible for jumps/jibs. Overall, the bindings feels like it's "cupping" my feet in. If your looking for more support, this is it. Very satisfied.
Strengths: Awesome support (especially toe edge)
highly adjustable
comfy
Weaknesses: Mostly minor
Bit of a pressure point on toe strap
Toe strap a little short for fat boots
Highback lock came off (I had the same problem with my Freestyle. Burton problem?)
Occasional jam on the ankle strap

Summary: These bindings rock! I upgraded to these bindings after using Burton 2001 Freestyles for a year, and I can honestly say that these bindings made me a better rider.
It took me a couple of runs to get used to the stiffer highback (still softer than the CFX's but stiffer and taller than Freestyles), but once I dialed in the forward lean, it was on!
The highback gives you so much support, but yet still has enough give so that you aren't killing your calves. I took out the little rubber plug on the highback, and that gave me the perfect amount of flex. Highback really works on hard heelside carves.
There was an issue with the 2001 mission straps, but luckily the guy I bought them from already got the replacements for me. The mission straps are super-comfy! Once you get the cloth broken in and molded to the curve of your boot, you won't feel any pressure points even when you get them cranked down tight.
The toe ramps are cool, and I never realized how much they help until I went back to bindings without ramps. It feels like you can hold your toe side edge so much better and quicker with these.
The heelcup in these bindings also have a little rubber piece in them that grips to Burton boots for more secure heel hold. I tried K2 Sonics and Salomon Dialogues with these bindings and found out that the rubber piece also grips other boots as well! (just another nice little feature to keep your heel from rising)
Highly recommended binding. Couldn't ask for a better binding (only if they made them a little lighter...problem solved! 2002 Missions!)
Strengths: Awesome highback. Perfect mix of flex and support. You'll definitely feel the softness in Customs and Freestyles after using these...and you'll realize that a little bit stiffer is better.
Comfy straps. Good toe ramps. Nice colors (Khaki and Black).
Weaknesses: A bit heavier than I would have liked. Highback takes a bit of getting used to/playing around with before you're comfortable.

Summary: These are some sweet bindings. They're comfortable and there are no pressure points from the straps. The toe ramps and bottom where the boot sits is perfect for my boots and the toe ramps are just right. I ride these on a burton custom and solomon boots.
Strengths: Looks
Comfort-straps are soft as hell
Hardware-has lock tite on the screws so they always stay tight.
Burton's customer service- my straps were recalled and that day sent me some extra straps off a custom binding. I rode on those until my mission straps came in the mail and then got to keep both sets.
Weaknesses: only getting onto low lifts, sometimes(rarely) I have to put the highback down so the lift doesn't break it. One time I didn't put it down on a low lift and all it did was pop the rubber piece out and i had to go back and get it. It was no big deal or problem but it probably would have broken if the lift hit it any harder.

Summary: Great bindings but Burton, don't rely on your warranty when putting out product. These are superb bindings, but on this occassion, it's just as well Burton give you that "no problem" replacement of items, as these get busted up pretty quickly. Maybe I have been really unlucky when I have crashed this year, but I doubt it. These are not that durable, but are very good on performance when they are not broken.
Strengths: Light, good level of stiffness without busting your calves, easy entry/exit straps, comfy, toe ramps are also quite a good shape.
Weaknesses: Durability. I must say that although they are a good binding, they are not strong. Despite the recall on the Ankle straps, mine were the OK ones anyway. However, stiching looks like it's dying, I have broken one ankle strap, both high back fasteners, two ratchets and put a thumping great ding in the highback in less than one months riding.

Summary: Its fits riders who usually go freeriding.
Strengths: This binding is very comfortable and light. The cloth bone out textile ankle strap is very comfortable. I especially like the RAF (Rider Adjustable Flex) which enables you to control how you want your high back padding configured.
