at Mogul Mouse (Reno) Favorite place to ride: All around Tahoe Riding Style: All Mountain/Freeride Product Year: 2001 Summary: Tried these boots after spending a day in the 01 K2 Eclipse. Man, what a difference. Even with the skin hanging off my heel, the Transformers were so comfortable. Used with stiff backing and flat bindings and had no problem with control. Will be trying out new K2 HB bindings this season. Strengths: Comfort, Versitility and cool looks. Weaknesses: Haven't come across anything in my limited trial time. at REI Favorite place to ride: Vail Riding Style: All Mountain/Freeride Product Year: 2001 Summary: I bought these boots at the end of the season. I've only used them a few times. The boots, without either insert, are stiff to begin with. Right now I'm running them without a stiffner.
The "Stiff" insert is very stiff. I wouldn't recommend these for general free riding unless you primarily like to carve. The "Soft" insert is as bad. I ride a medium stiff board (K2 A-Star 158). They work well together. Strengths: Comfy, warm, adjustable stiffness Weaknesses: Too new to say; so far, so good Similar Products Used: Shimano Enduro

at ZJ Snowboarding Favorite place to ride: Mammoth Riding Style: All Mountain/Freeride Product Year: 2001 Summary: Best Clicker boots I've used so far. If you're going with step-ins, don't skimp on the boots. They make or break the system. These boots took a couple of days to break in, but they're super supportive for those of you who love to carve, but don't want hardboots. The ankle strap is nice, along with the plastic molded tongue give extra support for those deep toeside carves. Two different stiffness highback inserts are provided to tweak the boot some more. Overall a great boot, even at full retail... (ouch!!) Strengths: Very supportive, adjustable stiffness, ability to be used both on HB and regular Clicker bindings, nice lining, plastic molded tongue gives extra toeside support. Weaknesses: Expensive. Similar Products Used: K2 Sonic, Shimano X
