Summary: I rode an earlier version of these boots for seven very happy years. The new version kind of stinks. You can't tighten these boots enough to get the ankle support you need with Clickers because they set the laces too far apart and didn't put enough lace hooks on the ankle.
Strengths: Well made boot, quality construction and warm. The inner boot is really comfortable.
Weaknesses: Laces do not stay tight. Lace eyelets are set too far apart so you really can't tighten the toe area at all. The ratchet ankle strap doesn't prevent heel lift as advertised.

Summary: These boots were like heaven to wear when I first started boarding. Comfortable and convenient. Now that I started hitting up deep powder on diamond runs, they seem to lack support. I feel my heel lifting up quite a bit during a hard run. Great for beginners. Advanced riders, go with a good strap in.
Strengths: VERY comfortable. My friends always whine about how much their feet hurt at the end of the day and I have a smug grin on my face.
Weaknesses: Laces are hard to tighten. Padding under ankle strap tends to fold, making it hard to clamp down. Could use a bit more support but I think it's expected with clickers.

Summary: Overall this is a solid boot. Good support, good comfort level (for a step-in). However, I am switching back to strap-ins because of the comfort. And who is trying to convince who that there is so much more convenience with a step-in system. C'mooon!!
Strengths: Most comfortable boot I've tried for a stiff step-in boot. Looks good on the catwalk. Good ankle strap.
Weaknesses: Laces suck. A bit on the heavy side.

Product Year: 2000
Summary: A great value in a step in boot. Warm as all get out and supportive enough for even the most dedicated rider.
Strengths: Very comfortable, good support from the internal highback and ankle strap. Work well for freestyle but really shine as a nice pair of intermediate level freeride boots. A very good price.
Weaknesses: A little too much lateral motion, a racheting ankle strap would be great as well.

Favorite place to ride: Mount Snow
Riding Style: All Mountain/ Freeride
Product Year: 1999
Summary: A good overall boot, very strong, designed more with the freerider in mind. Its weight and firmness would hinder its utilization in the pipe but it will keep your big toe from freezing and you will be stylin' on the mountain.
Strengths: Looks great (was actually mistaken for a casual shoe, if you can believe that). Very warm and comfortable with a nice thermoliner. Comes with various aids to adjust the firmness of the forward lean and stability of lateral motion. The ankle strap gives good support. With a little practice stepping into bindings becomes easy and they give great support when riding.
Weaknesses: The are HEAVY, you don't really feel it when walking in them but when you compare to other boots or try to carry them while carrying your board, your arm gets a workout. Although the ankle strap funtions fine, it looks like it will break with any extra pressure (we'll see).
