Review Abstract
The Burton Rippey “rides like a dream” everywhere, including power and woods, say reviewers. Boarders say it has an “ideal amount of flex and stiffness to handle parks and back country” and has a “a slightly stiffer tail for more pop and float in the fluffy stuff.” This “very speedy” board scores high with reviewers, who thank Burton repeatedly for its “responsive” and “maneuverable” board. “Like a hot knife through butter,” the Rippey will have you turning “quick from edge to edge” thanks to its strength. One boarder says, “I've thrown everything at this board, and it always delivers.”

Price Paid:  $150.00 at summer of 04

Favorite place to ride:
steep slopes and in the park

Riding Style:
FreeStyle

Product Year:
2002

Summary:
the burton rippey i paid for 150 is well worth the money. it is very light and flexible. my last board was so choppy when i accelerated at high speeds, but the rippey handles high speed and you get much more air due to the weight.

Strengths:
strengths would be weight, flexibility, graphics, and the whole deal.

Weaknesses:
none that i have picked up on yet.

Product Year:
2000

Summary:
I have rode Burtons since the 80's and I love the Rippey!! I ride all of the hill and I can tellyou there is not a stronger lighter, quicker board on the hill. The Rippey does to boarding what beer does to ugly people.

Strengths:
Never chatters at high speeds, get in the trees and backcountry and you will feel like the board is making love to ya!! I rode this board for years and my buddy went through a board a yr and we rode the same terrain, tough as grissle.

Weaknesses:
Didn't like the grafix at first, but they grow on ya, now I likw them lots!!

Favorite place to ride:
Off piste and Jumps

Riding Style:
FreeStyle

Product Year:
2001

Summary:
Awesome board, fast and easy. Jumps predictable and always lands predictably.
Good for laerning new tricks. This Board is easy and fast. All the other fast boards are stiffer and harder to ride, not this one. If you're a slope freak, don't buy it, but if you're a fast cruzer, jumper and off-piste freak, than go for this board. For comparison, it's far more flexible than a powers for instance.

Strengths:
1. Light weight.
2. Easy to ride, jump anp land.
3. Seriously fast wen waxed properly.
4. Rides ok switch.
5. Spins easely (weight matter I think)

Weaknesses:
1. Too flexible for the slopes especially when the conditions are rough.
2. On the slopes you'd need more edge grip.
3. It loses it's initial flex, it gets softer, so watch out when buying this board if you want a stiff board.

Santa Cruz X 2001. (a bit havier and stiffer than the Rippey)
