Rossignol Strato 2001

Description
First tracks. And how sick it was in the woods. A technical freeriding board that likes to ride fast, is stable and yet quick edge-to-edge. Performance with comfort for that last run of the d...

Price Paid:  $700.00 at boarders

Favorite place to ride:
banff

Riding Style:
All Mountain/Freeride

Summary:
This is a really good entry board. It is fast, handles really good, and feels right under the feet. the more u ride it the more u'll love it.. pretty cool look to it. goood powder board.

Strengths:
its base is HOT thanks to the stone grind! its like driving a porche on the hills. its really fast if waxed properly waxed. The this bad boy handles really well even when u are going fast down the hill. its a FLoater so its a beaut for riding in powder.

Weaknesses:
i find its on the heavy side with lack of flex. its not a park board but never the less u CAN take it into the park if u really wanted to. i find the base scratches easier than others and its not worth it cuz after if u get it grinded you throw sum $$ away cuz u paid for the stone grind and that gets rid of it..

Price Paid:  $200.00 at Comor Sports

Favorite place to ride:
Whistler/Blackcomb

Riding Style:
All Mountain/Freeride

Product Year:
2001

Summary:
It's interesting to read so many positive reviews for this version of the Rossi Strato. It's a nice deck in powder, but I would have to disagree when it comes to true freeride. I didn't find the board to hold an edge very well (on hard pack conditions) and I found it to be too soft. I would recommend this board for any beginner to intermediate rider who wants to play in the pow and in spend some time with tricks. If you want a real freeride board look for something stiffer and with a nicer sidecut.

Strengths:
Great in powder! Good learner board for freestyle and some freeride.

Weaknesses:
Not the deck I would choose for true freeriding. Does not ride on hard pack very well.

Just about any capped freestyle board out there that is aimed for beginners and intermediates.

Summary:
I would have to say the Strato is a great board. Good for powder, groomed, park....whatever you wanna through at it. Its light and feels great to rid. I highly recomend this board to freeride fans.

Strengths:
The Strato is a great board overall. It handles great edge to edge and kicks ass in powder. It is also good in the park.

Weaknesses:
I can't find any weaknessess with the strato.

Favorite place to ride:
Mt. Bachelor

Riding Style:
All Mountain/Freeride

Product Year:
2001

Summary:
If you enjoy riding in deep powder through trees and enjoy backcountry, there isn't a better board on the market. I have ridden a lot of the demos this year and no other board comes anywhere near the Strato. This is meant for someone who loves the mountain, not the park, so don't buy it if you are a park rat.

Strengths:
It carves better than any other board I have ever ridden. It goes in and out of trees and through the powder like a champ. The best thing about it is how well it holds an edge. I have more control on the Strato then any other board.

Weaknesses:
There isn't much pop-it isn't a good park board.

Similar Products Used:
There really isn't any board like the strato

Favorite place to ride:
Sunshine Village

Riding Style:
All Mountain/Freeride

Product Year:
2000

Summary:
I've had a good 30 days on this board and it was worth more than what I paid for. It took a lot of beatings and it's still like new.

Strengths:
Good all around board that can handle just about any thing you throw at it. Light, fast and responsive.

Weaknesses:
Could use a little more flex, scratches easily. The base needs better graphics.
