Description A super versatile freeriding machinen designed for riders with XL feet. The mountain returns for '99 with a new full length Lite core, Fusion base technology, and full-cap construction. An all-mountai...
Review Abstract The Ride Mountain is "the best board if you have feet and you're a big guy," according to one six-foot, 200-pound reviewer. Snowboarders note that it "needs constant waxing, but that's to be expected"; it's also "pricey, but you get what you pay for." The Mountain "carves very well" and cuts through thick powder like butter," "so just lean back and float away." It's "fast," "snappy," and "really stable off jumps, in the air and landing." The Mountain is a "confidence-builder for the beginner," but this "comfortable board" can "take a beginner or the advanced boarder." One intermediate snowboarder goes so far as to recommend it "whether you have big feet or not."

Summary: I LOVE THIS BOARD! I am 6'3", 205lbs, and have a 13 boot. Even though this stick looks like and ironing board at 172cm, it is fast, turns quick and easy, and makes me look like I am more seasoned of a rider than what is true. This board does not have the problem moving from edge to edge that you normally hear about in wide boards. I took this thing and put it to the test and it came out in flying colors. I have absolutely NO complaints.
Strengths: Great edges, super stable, good pop, and simply a GREAT over all board.
Weaknesses: None that I can find.

Summary: Picked it up last summer on 00/01 clearance. Best wide board I've ever ridden. It's just sturdy enough that it's easy to control, but flexy enough for good pop. I love the base on this board, the thing feels like it's just floating over the snow, sooo fast. Turns on a dime, doesn't even feel like a wide board in hard carving. The perfect board when you've got dogs like mine (Size 13 boots).
Strengths: Light weight, super-smooth feel, lightning-fast base, turns like no other wide board. The board to have if you've got big feet.
Weaknesses: I haven't found any...this thing is bombproof.

Summary: I am 6' 3" 310 lbs, size 13. I snowboard pretty much every other week yearround between North America, Europe and South America. I ADORE this board. I ride a 172, it floats over the soft stuff with little effort, yet cuts the pack like it has razorblades. Most of my friends let me take point after a heavy dump so they can take my track when thier shorter boards start nosing into the loose stuff. As for speed, I haven't ridden anything better. I just got a 2002 Burton Canyon 181, and while that board is amazingly sturdy, I still go back to this one. If you have big feet and like the backcountry, this is THE board.
Strengths: Fast base, sturdy without being stiff, lightweight (for as big as it is), great handling, great edge control, just enough flex to make it through the chop
Weaknesses: I wish they made a larger board.

Summary: this is the perfect board for anyone with a big feet. particularly with the clicker & big nitro boots i prefer. however, this is a very light board and is not difficult to handle. this board has not let me down, and is great in both groomed, powder, and offslope. its responsive, yet smooth and stable. plus it has a very fast base. although not the fastest base out there, it has a great mix of speed and not-having-to-wax-every-time. at 6' and 175 lbs i wish i had bought the next size up from 159cm.
Strengths: - very light - really fast base. i was consistently passing everyone on the switchbacks. - perfect stiffness - nice graphics. no silly dragons, demons, or robots
Weaknesses: - none.

Summary: This board rocks!!! It was my first time snowboarding and I'm hooked. I am trying to stay sane and not sell all of my worldly possessions (my motorcycle and my pet snake Abdullah), just to be closer to the slopes. Even though I'm new at the sport, I feel that this board is perfect for anyone trying to start out without having fear of outgrowing (skill wise) this board too fast.
Strengths: impressive looks, great handling characteristics, bang for the buck
Weaknesses: board chipped when a fellow snowboarder crashed into me during the snowboard school. (probably would happen to any board.)
