Price Paid:  $315.00 at Olympic Sports, Seat

Favorite place to ride:
Mt. Baker

Riding Style:
Groomed/Slalom

Product Year:
2001

Summary:
The first board I ever owned, and I still rock it in the park and in the spring and summer. Super forgiving for learning, and if you're like me and like a soft little board to play with later, still sick. The only thing I don't ride with this board anymore is pow, and that's just because it's too short and soft now (mine's a 45, and I ride my '03 Prospect 54 for speed and powder days). Light as a feather. It's taken a beating over the years (I've definitely got 100+ days on it). My Driver is my baby. I will keep this board until one of us dies. I love it. Too bad they don't make them anymore... I think the Shade is the closest equivalent now. The one thing this board could be different on is it would probably rock even harder if it were a twin tip... But if you ever see one of these in decent shape, snatch it up and love it forever.

Price note: I got mine new in 2001 as a package with bindings, so the board was probably closer to $225 than $315.

Strengths:
Forgiving, soft, carvey, tough, light, awesome

Weaknesses:
Directional

Price Paid:  $100.00 at Used, from a friend

Favorite place to ride:
Sunrise ski park

Riding Style:
All Mountain/Freeride

Product Year:
2002

Summary:
Board is so forgiving... the first board I used was some rental and it beat me up. This board is sweet. It is a bit slow, but to learn to carve properly it works great as a teacher. I have caught many edges that would knock me over, but the board just bounced off and straightened itself...very nice.

Strengths:
Excellent learning board.
Good for carving lessons.
Nice design.
Sturdy board, takes a beating.

Weaknesses:
Too slow on flats, once speed becomes a factor in my riding I will need to upgrade.
Lost edge in packed semi-icy snow.
