Price Paid:  $330.00 at Ogden board shop (?)

Favorite place to ride:
Snowbasin

Product Year:
2001

Summary:
The fastback is not a beginner's board. Its unforgiving to mistakes, but the payoff is sweet. This board is a pow-pow dream, it just floats and knifes through powder. Watch out for ice since the board lacks flexibility you can really get beat up. Designed for Big Mountain/Freeride not for the halfpipe.

Strengths:
Powder. Speed.

Weaknesses:
Halfpipe, rails.

Similar Products Used:
I also ride a Salomon Forcast which has a lot more flex.

Holy ****. This board took my riding to another level. I can't believe how well it holds an edge. I am riding faster than I ever though I would. Excellent board. I bought ity for only 380 Canadian, so all I can say is WOW!

Strengths:
No Chatter, amazing hold and perfect flex.

Weaknesses:
I'm not super fond of the graphics, but really.. I'm nitpicking.

Price Paid:  $0.00

Favorite place to ride:
Big White

Product Year:
2001

Summary:
This board is FAST, especially in powder and on the flats. Cornering is exceptional. However, for a board that is supposedly designed for hard back country use, construction seems to be pretty weeny.

Strengths:
A very responsive board and a hoot to ride. I won't try to techno talk it up because all I can say is that compared to by old Liquid board, I felt as though I had found Nirvana.

Weaknesses:
Sadly, on the first day of use on it, I grazed a hidden rock, and I mean grazed (only a scuff on the base). The edge bent and the base delaminated. I managed to get it fixed after being advised that the warranty would not cover the problem. Salomon customer service appeared to be non-existent. I got the address for Salomon Canada and wrote a nice letter after the board blew out asking what could be done to rectify the situation. I heard NOTHING back.
