Price Paid:  $200.00 at off a mate

Favorite place to ride:
Whistler BC

Riding Style:
All Mountain/Freeride

Product Year:
2002

Summary:
My board is a little short for me at 155cm, but it can still haul serious ass. This board is real stiff and takes some getting used to but is great after a day or 2. It has good pop and is great for the park and groomers, but it gets tossed around at high speeds in the crud (compared to my K2 Ambush)

Strengths:
light, fast, good pop

Weaknesses:
too stiff for real tight turns, gets thrown around at speed on non-groomed runs

Price Paid:  $200.00 at Internet

Favorite place to ride:
Mammoth

Riding Style:
All Mountain/Freeride

Product Year:
2001

Summary:
It's a nice board, but I wouldn't pay the full $400. If you can get it for a good price, it's without a doubt, well worth it. Overall, I must admit, it's a tight ass board. The first time I got air with it, I got a lot higher than I ever did with my other decks b/c of the speed and lightness. Landing the suckers were much smoother too. Too bad I couldn't keep it up (I landed pretty hard from high up, so I'm temporarily traumatized.)

Strengths:
I've been riding this A-1 for about five months now. Just got back from Mammoth. I'll admit, the consistent reviews about this board are true. It's fast, but not the best board for the tight turns. I went down the side of the mountains turning b/w trees and it started to get pretty tight. SMACK into a tree. Not the best board to turn on a dime with. Learned my lesson. Now I take both my boards out with me.

Weaknesses:
I wouldn't mind if the board were stiffer throughout the entire deck.

Favorite place to ride:
Big Bear

Riding Style:
All Mountain/Freeride

Product Year:
2001

Summary:
A great board. Very stable at high speeds and holds a great edge. When I first tried out the board, I was amazed at how light it felt. I was surprised at how quick the board was, and once I got used to the speed, it was great.

Strengths:
Very light and carving with it was so incredibly smooth. I was riding on ice and it still held an edge.

Weaknesses:
Performing tight turns was a bit tricky.

Favorite place to ride:
Snow Summit

Riding Style:
All Mountain/Freeride

Product Year:
2000

Summary:
Try before you buy.

Strengths:
Like most of the comments by other reviewers I thougth the A-1 Was one of the best boards I've ridden in the 158cm range. It carved great and handled in the park. One fast Mother!

Weaknesses:
Not recommended for riding through the tight tree chutes. It's too stiff in the tail to spin on a dime.
