at boardsonline.co.uk Favorite place to ride: Queenstown, New Zealand Riding Style: All Mountain/Freeride Product Year: 2002 Summary: (note: price was in ponds and bought on sale in summer)
A very good top end board. Allrounder. Very good at speed, good edge holding, sensational ride in powder, and perfectly capable of jumps and tricks. Strengths: Yes it certainly is mega light. Made from practically every material under the sun, and loaded with all the technologies and features you can think of.
It has an origional design of the tip, which has been made very flexible and helps iron out crud and chatter very well.
Has quite a fat head and is beautiful in powder. Wax her up well and she really flies.
Moderately snappy and no problems with jumps or pipes. The light weight makes rotations a breeze, even with the added length of a freeride board. Weaknesses: Mine broke :( It bent up just infront of the left binding (regular stance). I've used it for over a full seasons boarding, and it seems to have just given way internally. I have been landing on the tip reasonabley hard on occasion, but nothing insane. The board has a very thin construction, and is maybe not as durable as your average top end model. So, despite having a great time with this one, I would not buy another.
The strongly directional shape can make riding switch a bit more tricky than it might be, but it's not what the board was designed for anyway. Similar Products Used: None similar.

at Buitink Duiven The N Favorite place to ride: Les Trois Valley Riding Style: All Mountain/Freeride Product Year: 2001 Summary: This is amazing,
I know its hard to find this board in the shop, especially in the Netherlands.
but if you can get a megalight don't think just buy.
I’m just back from Austria where I used this board for the first time, and I must say this board drives me crazy, now a now world is born. Was my old board so bad?? (a KillerLoop) You can make curves so easily and also on high speed the board is still under control. Strengths: lightweight, flexible and control Weaknesses: not found yet

at Nidecker UK Favorite place to ride: Porte Du Soleil Riding Style: All Mountain/Freeride Product Year: 2001 Summary: The Nidecker Megalight is a very fast board. However, it is the stability at speed that really hits you when you ride it. Also, the off piste ability of the Megalight is just superb. You hit the fall line and think that you have pushed it too far, then the board just takes over and gets you out of trouble! This board is so much better than anything I've ever ridden before. It's expensive, but well worth the dosh as it is an excellent board. If you are looking for a new board for freeriding, then you cannot go wrong if you buy a Megalight! Strengths: Speed, Stability, Off-piste ability & Looks Weaknesses: I haven't found any weaknesses yet. Similar Products Used: Burton Charger & Burton Custom
