at local store Summary: I am still riding the original flat tail voile 156 I picked up new over 6 years ago.. and it still provides.
Voile has the system down. period. they specialize in BC gear for the BC crowd, and nothing else. Burton product is nice, but if you spend anytime in the BC and look at their plat binders, you will realize the potential for getting phucked very far from civilization.
My 156 rides much bigger b/c of the flat tail, but not big enough for the real deep. The flip side is that it excels in steep spring chutes on corn and crud b/c of its length and stiffness.
I use exclusively with shimano step ins (don't believe the hype), and this system minimizes weight and has served me without breakdown for years (the only breakdowns when you get over 70 days a year are with the boots my friends..). Can't believe that many still won't switch over to step ins in the b/c, but then, marketing does work!
