at coast mountian sport Summary: I am a hunter in northern canada; I bought this boot in the fall of '98 and fell in love with them instantly. These are the best boot that I have ever worn and I want another part, in fact I refuse to wear another part. Customer Service: I puled them out this fall and found out that the top inside pulley on the right boot has torn. Can I replace or get fixed? Please let me know. I have taken extermely good care of them and have only worn them for about 60km's tops. thanks. Similar Products Used: It doesnt matter because to me this is and/or was the best boot that was around.

at Overstock.com Summary: I am reviewing the Longitude Goretex model.
Wow, $68 bucks for a goretex boot? Damn, it was worth it. I bought it online, which I think I will never do again simply because you cannot try it on. But for that price, I could not resist.
My gamble paid off. I could not have picked a better fitting boot. They stuck to me like glue. Fit was snug, and comfortable!
The real test was to try it out on a hike. One thing about these boots, is that they are heavy. The upside of it is that they are really stable, and protect your feet like armour.
The bad thing is that they are REALLY stiff! The flexibility is too stiff for my liking. To put it in perspective, it keeps your feet at 90 degrees (which all good hiking boots should), but the downfall is that I could not bend it at all without hurting the back of my legs. Ie. my feet were okay, but the back of my legs (above the heel) was sore and sometimes bleeding. I sure hope this is not the breaking in period!
Anyway, I think for the price I paid for, you can't really complain. These are comfy boots (for the feet not the legs though!) waterproof, and really protect your feet. The attention to detail in construction of this boot is great. Customer Service: None. Similar Products Used: None

Price Paid:
$220.00 Summary: This boot is discontinued! -- Damn! $220 is worth the price I paid. I had the first generation black 'Parallels',but the pulleys ate through the tongue fabric. Asolo promptly gave me credit, and shipped me the 1998 2nd generation model,in navy blue. It is much better! I really loved this boot! So I heard, in summer 1999,that they'd been discontinued, I began searching for another pair - ANY pair, whether used ( good condition),or 'new'. My size is -you guessed it - size 10.5. -Hard to find so lat, for a now discontinued model! I browsed the web,and found out that "GEAR.COM" had the rest of the inventory. This was almost a year later (summer 2000). Well, they ran out of my size, but I got a pair of brown 'Meridians' for $69!!!! Same great fit; Good pulley lacing system! They are good boots! Nothing is perfect for everyone- but these boots are armoured man! -They take a beating;and after a good cleaning, and some 'armor all' on the rubber soles, they are ready for more.
**NOTE** Dave Page -"cobbler extraordinaire" can RESOLE these boots!!! Get on Yahoo, and type in his name. He's the best cobbler in America. And he does an expert job,to prolong the use of boots. He can also REPAIR the boots ,if -let's say a seam comes undone. Thanks for your time!
Customer Service: Sorry to see it go. Generation 2 boots were much, much better than generation 1 boots. Asolo has another boot -kinda similar- for backpacking. It has the pulley laces I love, for fitting/easy tensioning. But it's a first generation boot. So I'll wait for the 'bugs' to be worked out.
Dudes- don't ever skimp out on paying for quality! Your feet/legs are how we locomote ourselves. Give 'em the best that you can buy. we don't need bad ankles, and knees when we're older, right? Similar Products Used: Scarpa SL - Awesome non-GoreTex boot! Lowa "Gibet GTX"- awesome German quality. Technica "Alta TCY"-lightweight 'bombproof' backpacker boot.
I never 'cheap-out' on my feet, man! Only the best for my dogs!

, from St. Louis, Mo Summary: These boots kicked ass and I absolutely loved them until one day while I was backpacking at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, the heal started separating on my left boot. A seem ripped out and the sole and shoe began to separate. I delt with it for a few days and it was fine but then it got to the point that I couldn't use them. So I put them in my pack and did the second half of the trip in my Asolo Pantera Low Approach Shoes. These worked great even on the ascent of 12000+ foot Mount Baldy. Other than the heel separating on the Parallel's they were awesome, i never got a blister, they were 100% waterproof, extremely comfortable, by far the best boots I've ever owned. I loved them and would recommend them to anyone. My dad uses the same boots and his are fine. Mine were just defective and Asolo credited me the retail value of the boots. Once again these boots kicked major ass and I loved them and would recommend them to anyone. Customer Service: Took a long time since they're in Italy but they credited me retail value of the boot Similar Products Used: Timberland
