Summary:
Great ski to learn on, and will carry a new telle skier along way for several years. It's a great beginner and intermediate ski. For crud and out of bounds, it's just too light. It's best for quick turning and avoiding hazards. It can't plow through and destroy bumps and crud. Not really my choice for bottomless powder. It is possibly the resort tele ski made. No real problems, just that a skiier will find it's limits over time.

Summary:
Atomic has been making the TM 22 for a while, now calling it the Diran. I think it is the best all-around tele ski available. There are plenty of skis available (for a lot of cash) that do specific things better than the TM 22. But if you want to own a single ski for all conditions, TM 22 or Diran is it.

I've used my TM 22 for three years, and it floats through powder just fine for a medium wide ski. The best performance however is in bumps, steeps or unpredictable snow, where it holds an edge like a trooper. I especially love it when I'm getting tired, and just want to link turns on the groomed. Easy. Fun. Nice.
