Summary: I like this helmet. However, I have never had another to compare it to. I have had it for 3 years. yellow venom color. out, and most importantly, here is what consumer reports says about this helmet: NOT ACCEPTABLE The helmet's shell shattered in our impact test, compromising the retention system and producing sharp fragments that could cut the wearer's face.

Summary: Although my favorite helmet is a Leedom, it's simply too hot to put up with when randonnee skiing (ski touring), especially during the spring, when I'm either working up a sweat or when it's warm weather. I needed something with better ventilation.
My wife selected the Boeri Axis Rage when she bought a helmet during spring '00 skiing, and I became very impressed with its features, especially the removable lower lining. Removing this lining cools the helmet considerably. So I finally caved and bought myself one. I've been pretty happy with it since.
I still prefer wearing the Leedom during the main, colder winter season for a couple reasons: (1) slightly better safety rating ("crash test" results), (2) variable ventilation control, (3) more secure goggle strap attachment in the back. But, when spring hits and I'm out touring (randonnee) there's no doubt which helmet's going with me...it's the Boeri.
This helmet is comfortable, cool, and good-looking. Plus, it's very safe, and important factor especially in the back-country and when tree skiing. I strongly recommend it.

Summary: This purchase must have been one of my smartest move yet. This helmet is so lightweight that after skiing for 30 minutes you'll forget that you are wearing a helmet.
Also the ventilation holes really gives this shell some cool feeling when going downhill. The Outlast liner really keeps the inner shell temperature at it's modest.
I cannot recommend this product more.

Summary: Man, this it IT!!! I've tried around 10 helmets in my 15 year skiing experience and this HAS to be the lightest, easiest to fit and cool helmets in the market today. I opted for the Rage over the Performance because I'm not in to the 'full' shell thing. I do big airs, pipes, rails, quarter, etc and this baby has been there to provide me with confidence whenever I'm up in the air! Go buy before they run out!!!
