They are awesome for watersports with any two pin traditional watch casing. I've had 6 of them over close to 30 years. They never wear out but do get dirty so washing them every few months is recommended. I used to wear them in the shower on my dive watches so they got cleaned regularly but still needed a thorough cleaning at times. I still have 3 of my older straps. I replaced them as they aged or put them on my older watches. I think the first I purchased in the early 1990s. The advantage to these style bands or a Nato strap is if you break a pin the watch doesn't fall off. I'd recommend either to any outdoorsman. Forego the fashion statement of your original leather, rubber or metal band if you are truly using your watch in the way it was designed. All those waterproof features and scratchproof crystals don't mean a thing if your precious watch sinks into the depths or bounces down a rocky hillside.

The ends can begin to fray and the other surface can get snags. I've used a careful application with heat from a cheap lighter to melt the bad areas. While hot shape the melted nylon with wetted fingertips.
