Though the Mountain Hardwear Menas Epic Jacket weighs a ridiculous 14oz, it still provides the excellent weather protection of an Ark Ripstop shell and Conduit Silk laminate. While this softshell breathes like a champ on a grueling approach, it also fights off nasty snow when the weather turns ugly. Even at such a low weight, Mountain Hardwear still managed to add a chest pocket and two underarm zips.
