The average grizzly bear living in the lower 48 requires over 200 square miles of territory in order to meet its yearly caloric needs. Sadly, much of the bears' natural habitat is being partitioned off by development, which limits the animals' long-term prospects for survival in this region. The fine folks at Patagonia not only included a life-sized grizzly bear paw that's 14 inches long on its slim-fitting Freedom To Roam Griz T-Shirt to draw attention to this issue, they've also promised to donate five dollars from the sale of the shirt to the Freedom To Roam Coalitiona non-profit organization dedicated to creating and preserving essential habitat and passable corridors for wildlife.
