Strength:

A smooth casting fly rod...it is an 8-wt rod, but with 7-wt lightness, which helps when you are doing the 1000-cast-shuffle for steelhead or salmon. Balances nicely in the hand...

Weakness:

The ONLY thing I do not like about the DS2 series is that the "Sage logo" and "rod information" are painted onto the rod.

I drove a four hour round trip to purchase the 8-wt Sage DS2 because I loved my DS2 4 & 5-wts. Later that day, I was out to test it, and it was all that I had hoped for. Some say the DS2's are a bit soft, and I have to agree that they probably rate toward the medium end of medium-fast action. However, I am one that prefers this type of action.

Customer Service

Never used for fly rods. However, I recieved a friendly and prompt e-mail regarding a catalog request.
