I got my ACG Ascent Compass for my birthday and it is one of only 15,000 Lance Armstrong Edition Models. I have few complaints and they are minor. Complaint a: Button markings wore off after only three months Complaint b: I frequently have to calibrate the altimiter. Complaint c: Top band broke loose at just four months and wasn''''t covered by warranty. Other than these minor problems, I love my watch. The ski chronograph works extremely well and the clarity of the numbers is striking. The compass is clear and easy to use, the altimiter needs a little reworking, however. I rarely ever get the same altitute at home (685 feet) and it only updates for a minute before going on standby to ''''save battery power''''. Oh, yeah, about the button markings wearing off. That happened without me even touching them or getting them wet. I think Nike should engrave them into the surface of the watch.

Customer Service

Okay but not phenomenal.

An apparently viable alternative to the huge suunto compass/altimeter watches. But... the update frequencies are much too slow. The compass only reads for 30 sec at a time, the altemeter updates every 2 sec for the first minute and then goes to sleep (updates every 1 min). This might be OK if you walk real slow, but after putting all the effort into the sensors, why not have an option to check data more frequently? The temp sensorr only works every five minutes. Alltogether very frustrating - you find yourself pushing buttons every time you want to check anything in case what you are looking at is where you were five minutes ago. Some nice graphical displays though of trends in the altitude and atmospheric pressure. If only you could turn on continual updating (and to hell with battery life if necessary) when you really needed timely data....

Customer Service

Excellent - I returned it with no hassle 2 days after purchase

Suunto watches - way to big to be everyday wear but at least they update all the time (compass), every 1 sec (altimeter) and temp (every 1 min)
