These are great little binoculars. I've had mine for about 5 years and they travel with me constantly. They are light to carry on a belt or in a pack.

The lenses give a good bright image and focusing is fast and easy. I carry them for bird and game identification during hiking and climbing and as a finder during astronomy. Highly recommended.

Customer Service

Not needed.

Pentax 8 x 40 WA- a good widefield glass
Pentax 10 x 24 - the Nikon 9 x 25 is much superior.

I have deliberately abused these binoculars. I use then for circumstances where i don't want to risk my better Zeiss or Leica binoculars. These binoculars have spent many a trip on the floors of canoes and rafts in whitewater. I have also taken them on -40 degrees F trips. They have never failed.

The optics are good but not great.

Customer Service

In general I find that the Nikon customer service folks are fairly nice and occasionally not. However, they generally seem to not have much knowledge about the products.

Similar Products Used:

Zeiss, Leica, Minolta, Bushnell, Leopold.

Optically the Zeiss and Leica are superior to the Nikon. I think that the Nikon is superior to Minolta, Leopold, and certaily superior to Bushnell or B & L.
