This is usually my compass of choice for coastal sea kayaking and paddling. It is completely waterproof and is a good reliable product. It is not designed for precision navigation; for that I would recommend something like a a Suunto KB77 or KB14 with 1/4 degree accuracy.

The wrist straps are very secure and the degree readings are fairly easy to read in daytime. I would like it better if Suunto provided battery operated illumination like their KB compasses.

Similar Products Used:

Silva, Brunton. Both make good compasses but I found the wrist style to be the most convenient. I have had friends try other wrist compasses of various makes that were very inaccurate compared to the Suunto.
