I carry heavy, bulky loads for family backpacks (2 tents, several pads and sleeping bags, etc) and this is by far the most comfortable pack with which to do that. Doesn't have as many extra little pockets as I'd like, and the bottom compartment zipper is poorly designed. It is the best external frame pack I've ever used, and I've tried most of them.

I found this pack to be the best for comfort, durability, and accesability, as well as for value when it was listing for $275 when i made the purchase 4 years ago. As a testament to the quality of design, the pack and i endured a 40 foot slide when a trail ledge gave way beneath me last fall. While i was cut and bruised, the pack came away in perfect condition save come caked mud and foilage debris.

dana designs - i just dont feel that an internal frame pack provides the comfort and support over the long haul

I have had this pack for several years now. I like the way it carries. It is comfortable and balances a load well.It is a good looking pack. I wish it had a little more room.

I still use an internal frame pack for certain type trips. I prefer this pack whenever possible.
