Black Diamond Space Shot Headlamp Headlamps

Black Diamond Space Shot Headlamp Headlamps

DESCRIPTION

Never be left in the dark again! Separate back-up power system supplies light when the primary source is gone. Conserve your bright xenon halogen light for the main event by using the six-volt, LED light for camp chores. Power regulator provides nine hours of continuous, non-fading light from six AA batteries; a single 6-volt battery supplies 12-hours of LED light. Water-resistant battery bag can be worn on a lanyard around your neck or clipped to clothing. Fully adjustable three-strap, elastic headband comfortably holds the light securely in place. Equipped with long-life xenon halogen bulbs (spare bulb included) that extend battery life; long-life LED bulb is nearly indestructible. Batteries sold separately.

The product is well designed but has one major flaw. The bulb does not produce enough light as the Petzl Zora belt headlamp. It does not have zoom capability. The 6V bulb uses 6 AA batteries which do not last as long as 4C batteries. The battery pouch is designed well. I returned the product the next day to the store. I guess that I will buy the Zora belt version. $88 Cdn dollars for this headlamp is too much money compared to the Petzl headlamp. The Space shot use a tiny 6volt battery for its LED is unacceptable since the power will not last long. I hope Black Diamond will upgrade this model to 4C batteries and a wider reflector.
