Not everyone would spend $20 for such a tiny light, but the Photon III is the best. Incandescent pocket lights are dim and have poor quality beams that make you miss holes in the ground while walking. The Photon III has a perfect beam, is bright, tiny, and is an improvement over the first and second versions: easier battery change, positive on/off switch, dimmer, and cool strobe/emergency functions. I use it as a backup when caving, backpacking, and on night bike rides(hold it in your teeth or velcro onto your helmet for changng a flat. Great for finding dropped keys under restaurant tables and getting into dark theaters.

Customer Service

Not needed: made well and batteries seem to last and last.

I really like my Photon MicrolightII. When I bought new and improved version I was sure I''m getting a better bang for my buck. And I wasn''t mistaking. Water resistant design allows me to keep it on me 24/7 in any condition. Various flashing modes allow me to use this lamp as aither a warning or location marker. Definiately an improvement over the previous model but... I wish they kept the battery cover the way it was before. In II model screws were used but in next generation battery case is a snap on. This makes battery change much easier but it doesn''t make me feel to great about durability. Also to activate the modes when you get the Photon you have to activate the microchip. Not a big deal but... In Photon II you had a small switch that would keep the lamp in on postion (solved with microchip with Photon III). I still prefer a switch. On switch is little bit harder to use. But Photon III is an improvement. Extra accesories like high visibility crystals just make it a must own equipment. I bought a second one that I attach to my dogs collar when he runs in the field at night and so far it survived everything my mud/water/dust/dirt loving puch had for it.
