This headlamp is lightweight and compact. The light beam is a little weak with a regular bulb and lens. It lights real well right in front of you, but becomes weak after about 15-20 feet. Burn time with a regular bulb is excellent. Best for camp chores like cooking, etc. but works fine for hiking, unless you have to see way ahead on the trail. Waterproofness is nice in the northwest.
