I bought this pack as a returned/defective item. I think someone just wanted to get a new pack, cuz I have now owned it for three years without a problem. It doesn't carry a lot of gear, but it wasn't designed for that purpose. The pockets and the bungee strap are all well placed, I think. It does do an excellent job of carrying my water plus a few extra items: food/snacks, dog leash, bike pump, camera or jacket, depending on what I am doing. Definitely happy with the product. When I do need a new pack I may go a size larger. A steal if you can get it cheaper than the suggested price.

I bought this pack for dirt bike riding. I've used this pack for a while now and am very happy with it. Holds plenty of water for a full days riding and there's enough storage space for tools extra spark plugs and a power bar or 2. It's a very durable system. I've managed to loop my bike and land on my back a couple times and the bladder and the bag have held up just fine.

I've had this pack for a little over a year now and it's served it's purpose quite admirably. I use it mostly for dirt biking. It's sleek yet still holds tools, spark plugs, and a couple power bars. It fits well over the back of my chest protector and doesn't flop around. It crashes very well, I've even landed on my back a couple times when I looped my bike and the bag and bladder survived without any damage. This is a quality product. At 100 Oz's I've ridden all day and not run out here in the Texas heat. I usually toss the fulll bladder in the freezer over night that way I have cold water all day long as the ice melts.

Customer Service

Can't say as I haven't needed it.

i first got the 2000 model for mountainbiking, but i use it whenever im in the boonies: hiking, backbacking (yep, lashed to the outside of the framepack) etc. it carries enough water for a demanding excursion, and keeps it snug on your bak. the mesh devider and key hook in the outer utility pocket are useful, but the outer bungee is useless for external carrying because the pack sways like a spidermonkey if you strap a jacket on the outside. dont expect to carry much beside a few granola bars, a medical kit, sunscreen and some clean socks. the bladder feels weak but has held up so far. the pack is very well constructed, the stitching, zippers and hardware are top-notch. if you dont own a hydration system and go out for more than a half hour, GET ONE. you will feel much better. once you've bought it, make sure to keep the inside clean.

Have used this product for about 1.5 years. Some minor wear but holding up fine. Has functional storage space with zippers, a clip, a strap, and a mesh pocket. Can adjust if for my petite daughter, or my larger frame. Nice product.

CamelBak is the only "hydration system" manufacturer I could find that doesn't think all users are 6' tall with no breasts. I'm 5'4" and have a short torso. CamelBak's pack lengths in all models fit me with the shoulder straps sized down to the max. Their pectoral strap is moveable to a point across my chest *above* my breasts rather tan under or directly across them. Other brands have packs that are too long, pectoral straps that cannot be moved high enough, or both.

I actually prefer the bladder design on some of the non-CamelBak models because they velcro shut across the entire top of the bag, making it easy to clean and dry them thoroughly, which is important if you don't want mildewy (or worse) water. But if the pack doesn't fit, I ain't gonna wear it. Brava to CamelBak for remembering that outdoor athletes come in size 4, not just 44 extra long.

Tried on all the major competitors' products at Anchorage REI -- must have been 10 models. None fit. Most are too long, hitting me in the kidneys, or else had pectoral straps that were *way* too low on me. What gives with the people who design these things? They're missing out on a huge market -- all the women I know who live up here are into active outdoor sports, and hydration is just as important in AK winters as in AZ summers.

This was given to me by my brother-in-law and has worked great. I mostly use it for biking and have only run out of water once, on Porcupine Rim in Moab.
The bag is beginning to show wear but it has held up well. It holds everything I need. I did add a sternum strap to keep it from bouncing around so much while riding.
