I have hiked many miles with this pack. Thos pack works better in cooler weather. The straps can dog and be prepared for heavy moisture on your back during warm months. I can carry everything for a good days hike with room to spare. I have packed it to 25 pounds with success.

This pack is great for multi-purpose hikes/rides/etc. The hip straps are nice and light, and the compression straps make the pack rather versatile. I do a good deal of long bicycle trips (500+miles), and really appreciate the 100 oz. capacity and all the extra room this pack offers. The only downside for bikers: The top of the frame tends to dig into my neck after several hours on the saddle. This is only a problem if you are riding, though. There are no downsides to the pack if you are hiking.

I use it mainly for bike commuting. It carries lots of clothes and an insulated lunch bag. When carrying a load it''s great to not have to reach for a bottle. The hose shutoff valve prevents leakage. The bladder size is more than adequate for my 17 mile commute, especially in the hot humid summer, but I''ve learned from experience that on longer rides to always carry at least a small water bottle just in case. I''m a big person and the back fits great. The separate pouch for the bladder is fantastic. NOTE to manufacturers-please always have sternum straps and the waist straps should be removable.
