I already owned a bora 80 and was very pleased with Arc''Teryx packs, so it was no suprise to me to find that the bora 40 was a great pack for use as a rock pack and day pack. Couldnt be happier with this pack. Very comfy, and bomb proof. expensive but totally worth it.

Great bag. bought mine in ''94. it still kicks ass. the older model is totally simple; main pouch, lid pocket, & daisy chains. to make sure your loads feel weightless, make sure you get the stay fitted. i just wish i had a more graceful way of strappin'' my snowboard on.

The Arc Teryx pack is the greatest pack I have ever tried on or own. Been through my share of day packs from North Face, REI, L.L. Bean, Lowe Alpine none have the comfort that the Canadian pack beholds. Once I tried on the Bora 40 on was the day I becane addicted to Arc Teryx products. Thank you Arc Teryx for finally making the gear that most of us have been dreaming about and wanting for years. Something that is comnfortable, that will last the end of time and many more trips / adventures to come. Thanks again. Happy trails to you all.

This is a great pack. I like it because it is just small enought to make you pack light. The pockets are sufficient and the suspension really does the job well. I am not one to ever pay full price, and I got this pack for $90, well worth the money...

The bora 40 is the best pack I've found for gear intensive day hikes / scrambles. The fit and finish are second to none, the hip belts move with your body to stop the swaying. Both shoulder straps and hip belt are made of a dense foam which stands up to repeated use and remains comfortable. I've had no problems with the zippers or straps, the pockets are well thought out providing easy access.
The back is a bit expensive but you get what you pay for, this pack does it all. Again its the best pack I've tried in its size catagory.

Customer Service

No problems.

My Bora 40 is now in it's second season. I use it primarily as a winter day pack - a task for which it is well suited. Plenty of room for all the extra clothes and gear for a winter hike and the back pouch holds my snowshoes.

A very comfortable pack that you can carry all day with no complaints. A great pack if a bit pricey.

I bought this back immediately before embarking on a one-month trip to Mexico. It wasn't a backpacking trip, but it did involve heavy use of the Bora-40, since that was the only luggage I brought. I read tons of reviews before purchasing this pack and man were they right! This pack is awesome. I never felt it and I had it packed full. Extreme comfort is probably Arc'teryx greatest advantage. A lot of very experienced hikers gave this pack better reviews (through different sites) than comparable Dana, Kelty, Gregory, or REI packs. I got mine on sale too, for around $140. When I get the cash (and the time) I'll be buying a bigger Arc'teryx for more demanding excursions.

I picked up this pack at Mountain Equipment Co-op in Toronto, reasonably priced. This pack has been with me through countless daytrips in the the game parks of southern Africa. From the dry, sandy terrain in Namibia to the thick wooded area in Botswana, this pack has held up. Best construction and attention to details in the business. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Phat pack. price was steep, but what can you do? the kangaroo pouch is pretty cool, i just wish i could get into it better when the bag is full. the side bottle pouches should be elastic mesh. when the bag is full you cant put a damn thing in there:) over all i would have to say a great pack. had it for a year and ive had no problems. quite a comfort too:)

I bought this pack as a means to transport glacier gear and backcountry ski gear for day trips. For the most part the pack has served me well, however, fastening crampons to the pack is tedius. Ice axes, shovels, and skis are easily strapped on. The suspension is well padded (a bit too padded on the shoulder straps, and restricts upper body movement). The internal frame consist of a single alminum stay, that rides along the spine. This is very discomforting on long climbs, and long bike rides as well.
