This was my first backpack purchase. I looked for a little over a month before going with the Bora 65. I chose it because:

1. By far the most comfortable pack I tested
2. Clean, simple, durable design
3. Perfect size for light overnight trips
4. Every other Bora 65 review I could find on the internet praised Ark'teryx in general and this pack in particular
5. Highly recommended by the two hiking stores where I did most of my shopping

My own opinion? If you can swing the $300 or so to buy it, you won't be sorry.

Customer Service

If the replies to my many questions in multiple emails to Ark'teryx are an indication of their customer service, they're tops. (Emails always answered within hours)

First pack ever owned, and although I have nothing else to compare it too, it's wonderful! The hip belt which is pretty wide, stiff and heavily padded, makes it easy to carry a heavy load without feeling any strain on your back and shoulders. Because of the hip-belt (doesn't bend easily) it makes if kind of awkward and difficult to store in your small vestibule. But besides that, nothing to complain about, could have walked forever with the loaded pack on my back!

Customer Service

Got it from MEC, very helpful in fitting it.

This has got to be the most comfortable pack out on the market. The 65 is great for 2-3 day hikes, packs well and is very accessable. The removeable lumbar pack is a nice touch for short day hikes. The only downside is the price of the bag, but a good buy if you put it to good use.

I have also use the Gregory Shasta, although a very well-made pack, it wasn't nearly as comfortable as the Bora 65
